      PIESTANY - Norwegian co-production drama 'What Will People Say' directed by Iram Haq opened the 13th international film festival Cinematik in Piestany (Trnava region) on Tuesday (September 11), TASR has learnt from the festival's spokesman Peter Konecny.

      BRATISLAVA - The Cabinet at its session on Wednesday approved a pilot version of the National Investment Plan (NIP) for 2018-2030 involving Slovakia's priority topics and key long-term development programmes, TASR learnt on the same day.
      
      BRATISLAVA - Frantisek Ruzicka has become new state secretary at the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry, with the Cabinet deciding to this effect at its session on Wednesday. Ruzicka led the team of Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak (a Smer-SD nominee) at the UN.

      REYKJAVIK - It was like in a Hollywood film in Reykjavik on Tuesday.       BRATISLAVA - Long unused railway lines might be rebuilt as temporary pedestrian or cycling paths, according to a draft amendment to the Railway Act sponsored by three MPs of the co-governing Most-Hid party, Elemer Jakab, Tibor Bastrnak and Peter Voros, which was okayed by the Cabinet at its session on Wednesday.

      BRATISLAVA - Financial Administration (tax office) president Frantisek Imrecze should attend a session of the parliamentary finance and budget committee on Wednesday (September 19), Finance Minister Peter Kazimir (Smer-SD) told media ahead of the Cabinet session on Wednesday.

      MOCHOVCE - Nitra region councillors as well as MP Radoslav Pavelka (SaS) are demanding that a check be carried out at the completion of the Mochovce nuclear power plant (Nitra region), TASR learnt from a statement released on Wednesday, expressing concerns about the quality of construction work and installed facilities at the power plant.
