Cabinet Approves Pilot Version of National Investment Plan for 2018-30

Bratislava, September 12 (TASR) - The Cabinet at its session on Wednesday approved a pilot version of the National Investment Plan (NIP) for 2018-2030 involving Slovakia's priority topics and key long-term development programmes, TASR learnt on the same day.
The draft document, which concerns various ministries, was submitted to the Cabinet by Deputy Prime Minister for Investment and Informatisation Richard Rasi (Smer-SD).
The NIP involves the areas of transport, energy, information and electronic communications, education, research, innovation, health care, environment, agriculture, social inclusion, employment and regional development.
All projects included in the NIP were designed on the basis of existing sector strategies in co-operation with the individual ministries. "There are two key factors that have affected the submitted document: the ministries' development plans haven't yet substantially incorporated the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and secondly, the development plans are almost exclusively based on drawing EU funds for 2014-2020," reads the pilot version of the approved document. As a result, setting projects until 2030 was a demanding task for the individual ministries.
The pilot version of the NIP will thus be updated on the basis of Slovakia's Vision and Development Strategy which should be presented to the Government by Rasi's Office by April 2019.
